I was born and raised on a sugar cane farm in Kwazulu-Natal Province, South Africa. While growing up I also enjoyed many happy vacations at our family beach cottage on the Indian Ocean.

I was educated at Michaelhouse School, South Africa, and then studied law at the Universities of Stellenbosch and Kwazulu-Natal. After compulsory service in the South African Army as a law officer I settled in Canada in 1989.  I graduated from Western University Law School and became a lawyer in 1994.

I live in London, Ontario, and am a partner in the business law group at Siskinds LLP.

I paint mostly landscapes, seascapes and some urban scenes. Artists who inspire me include Joseph Zbukvik, Herman Pekel, Colley Whisson, Alvaro Castagnet, Trevor Chamberlain, Milind Mulick, Sterling Edwards, Richard Rennie and the Group of Seven.
